Revit is not a good fit for all, and the upgrade policy *!/x#

Sorry to gripe, but where else can I say this?

As a specialist in acoustics and AV design the current Revit pricing model is offensive for a small practice. Owning Revit does nothing but alow me to say I have it. It is a costly peice of software, and now Autodesk thinks I need to own 3D max. I do all my acosutical work with Insul and EASE. A simple Revit package for drawing/model exchange and placing devices is all I need. I support BIM as a concept, but this is getting rediculous.

And really, charging more to down grade from Revit + Autocad to Autocad only is pretty offensive.
