    Revit Installation problems

    Hi, i've spent like 5 hours renaming files, moving files re-installing and uninstalling lot of programs and still get error message.

    Is the error message which i am currently getting, does anyone know anyway to solve this with out having to reinstall windows, as i have alot of data and no where to put it.

    Liam,

     

    Can you post the "C:\Users\Liam#\AppData\Local\Temp\vcredist_x64_2005.log" file, should have more information as to why the redistributable cannot be installed.

    ummm, i check my temp files, however that file is not present anywhere on my computer. i've searched each one of my harddrives and stilll nothing.

    I get a similar error in trying to install Revit MEP 2013.  I cannot locate the temporary file but the error code is 1639.  When you click on the link (from trying to install and it comes back stating it had failed), the biggest item I saw was C++2005 version.  However, on the help portion of that link, it only listed error code 1609, not the 1639 as I was having.

    Liam,

     

    You could try installing the Redistributable directly from Microsoft then run the Setup for Revit again.

    There was a problem with the 2005 C++, but i was able to repair the 2008 C++, however it failed to install again, and this error appeared now:

    hi sorry to bring this up again,

     

    I've been away. Right trying to reinstall the 2005 SP1 X64 package:

    Leads to - <C:\Users\LiamAppData\Local\Temp\IXP001.TMP\VCREDI~2.EXE

     

    doing the same witht he 86 version leads to :

    I keep getting the same error:

    Error 1935. An error occured during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.ATL,version"9.0.30729.177",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processArchitecture="x86",type="win32".Please refer to Help and Support for more information

     

    The log file says:

    I have Win 7 64-bit and have uninstalled Visual C++ 2008 and 2010 and only have Visual C++2005 on my machine. I have tried "Download Now" and "Browser Download" and both fail. Please assist. Thank you
