Revit Architecture 2012 Installation Error

Hi,


I am attempting to install the student version of Revit Architecture 2012. When it gets to the progress point (at the bottom of the window) that says "7 of 15 remaining", I get a pop-up window with the following message:

 

An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'FARO.LS,version="1.1.406.58",type="win32",processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1d23f5635ba800ab"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information.

 

I click OK and it seems to continue and get to the end of the install. Then I click on "Finish" and restart the computer.

When the computer restarts, I can't find an icon for the program or the program file in the folder. Also, it isn't listed as an option for uninstalling, so it looks like it never completes the install even though I get to the last screen and click the "Finish" button.

 

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

There are all sorts of solutions to this problem listed in the boards from disabling Symantec/Norton to removing FARO or reinstalling it manually.
