Revit 2015 install error 1619 on windows 8

I have been scouring this website for help, but can't seem to find anything relevant to installing revit 2015 onto windows 8.

I get the following error

2014/4/22:11:18:36 Louise LOUISELAPTOP Rollback Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1619
2014/4/22:11:18:36 Louise LOUISELAPTOP Rollback Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x86) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1619

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing x64 and x86 and restarting the laptop, but then I have also found somewhere that it says that C++ 2012 doesn't work on windows 8?

I'm a little bit comfused, could anyone lend a hand?

You can search here for 1619 errors, lots of posts and solutions.
Or you can safely uninstall all instances of VC++ from your Windows installation, restart Windows, then try and REVIT installer again.
You Windows Update to put back variants of VC++ any of your other apps may need (it's automatic).

Many people are having this issue lately.  It's a failed download. I have started putting it in my hot issues in my signature line as a result.

Install	Autodesk® Revit® 2015 Language Pack	Failed	Download Failed, Installation aborted, Result=1603

I would recommend that you try downloading your product using the virtual assistant by following the directions here:

Good Luck!

Hi,

If you havent tried this yet, just encountered the same today, thanks to Chris(IT support), he rejoined the user to the domain.  Somehow it affected the profile and so the installation was successful.  Hope this would also be your solution too.  Thanks.

Cheers,

First go to control panel>Programs and Features>Turn Window features on or off>

select to turn on .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0), you have to be connected to the internet to download this feature.

Back to Uninstall or change a program:

I also have uninstalled only the latest Microsoft Visual C++ you may find 2005/2008/2012, please check the dates they were installed.

Restart.  I have encountered some missing dlls when the PC turned on, but you may not encounter this, if you did, as you run the Autodesk installer again it will fix those errors anyway.

The installer should then proceed and finish successfully.

If you could send me the error log I may check the issue for you. Thanks. 🙂
