I have a new computer. I have been trying to install revit 2012, I get thru the download go to install it and it is always missing the design review which makes it so it doesn't install anything. I also just reinstalled autocad 2010 with no problem. I am using windows 7. I have tried it using I E 9 and google chrome. I have tried with the firewall off and with antivirus off. Working on about the 20th time trying and completely frustrated. I have been cleaning everything out afterwards before trying again. Please help!!!
Hi James,
Please post your installation log so that the community can help identify a cause and provide the corresponding troubleshooting steps.
Typically Design Review fails to install due to a newer version of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package being installed on your computer (would show up in the log as InstallMicrosoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86) FailedInstallation aborted, Result=1603)
A typical workaround is to uinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86) via the Control Panel (add / remove programs), reinstall the software, and then install the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86) from Microsoft (linked here).

Please accept as a solution if this fully resolves the issue, or reply with additional specifics if the problem persists.
I posed yesterday about instalation problems, I got the e-mail and followed the instructions about windows and still no luck below is the log file. I would really appreciate the help.
Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603
You need to uninstall your existing C++ 2010 Redistributable from Contol Panel. Then run the installer again.
