Hi everyone and thank you in advance for the help.
I am having an issue with a revit2012_x64_SA (stand alone) deployment. The issue is inconsistent with users in our domain and is quite frustrating to say the least.
For many of the clients on our network the installation is successful, however there are some which are unlucky.
The client will begin to start installing from the deployment and begin to run, however after 30 seconds into the installation, the silent installation dialog box disappears and then nothing happens.

I have found that if I create a new deployment with no autodesk design review and dont make it a silent installation, then the deployment works.
However the client then has to manually install design review after which is inefficient. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Having a similar problem here with Revit 2012!
Created a deployment and when installing it on a Windows 7 64 bit computer the installation fails the log looks like this.

Tried it on 2 different computers, resulting in the same errors.
The deployment installed on a Windows Vista computer after mannually installing Microsoft .NET Framework 4.
Installing directly from the disk Revit 2012 works on the windows 7 computers...........but installing Revit 2012 on 70 computers from the disk....
So if there's a solution for this please post
I guess you could try what i did and create a deployment that excludes design review and install.. If that works, then you could tell your co-workers they will just have to install design review manually. At least they will have the main components.(Just a workaround, not a solution)
I found another workaround...
What I did was disable UAC in Windows 7, and try the deployment again< the deployment ran a little longer but still failed on the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005, so I downloaded that from microsoft, installed it manually and ran the deployment again.
This time it completed succesfully and Revit 2012 incl. Design Review 2012 are installed.
Now I only have to do this for all the workstations...ah well.
Hope Autodesk comes with a etter solution for this
Perhaps you could push them through windows server update services (WSUS).. I have just looked in the microsoft catalouge and you can import and push them through there. This could save time and hassle, and all you would have to get the client to do is shutdown + Install updates.
Hope that helps.
For Revit 2012 : uninstall microsoft visual C++ 2010, then, launch installation 'Revit design included).
Success 🙂
I don't know why they didn't check if microsoft visual c++ is already installed or not. This is so ... hem. The problem is the installation try to install microsoft visual C++ 2010 while it is already installed on your PC, so the installation fail.
I can also verify that the C++ 2010 x86 installation is the problem (at least on an x64 machine). Simply uninstalling that through Control Panel and then running the normal deployment again fixes it.
Cheers
one simple thing i did after having problems for two day, disabled my internet security and everything worked fine
