I have tried installing both Revit Architecture 2010 and 2011 multiple times, but they both lock-up/freeze when it gets to the "recent files" screen. When I try clicking on anything in the Revit window it just makes the default windows warning/alert chime.
My system: Windows 7 Ultimate AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core 2.51GHz 4 GB RAM ATI HD4870 1Gig
I looked at the revit.ini file like you said, but there was no line like [Recent Workset List]. I'm assuming it is because I haven't even been able to to get Revit to open initially. I haven't even been able to activate any of the installations of Revit because it just freezes before it gets that far.
I even tried adding the line "DisplayRecentFilesPage=0", but that didn't even help.
did you install all the updates for revit 2010/2011?
make sure you have the latest video card driver for your machine
