Good Day,

Can anyone advise on the implications of renaming the server thats hosting the licensing manager for AUTOCAD. I currently have appoximately 5 floating licenses, would my client still be able to access the service successfully after this change.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

you can edit the hostname of the license file as long as the MAC address doesn't change you should be fine

Darren is right. As long as the MAC doesn't change, you should be good to go. Just make sure the LIC matches the new name. But don't change anything else. I particularly use THIS_HOST in the LIC because then it doesn't matter what your actual computername is. That's been one of my secrets for years.

Besides the environment variable, you can also make a dns or hosts entry that would point the old servername to the new one.
