Redundant server model

In earlier versions of Autodesk software I think I was able to crate the redundant server model by using workstations...
Now in 2007 versions I read that for this model to be used all 3 servers have to have Windows Server 2003 or 2000.
Has anyone tried to deploy this model using Windows Server and Win XP Pro ? Does it work ?
I asume that the official word from Autodesk is that all servers must have Win Server but has anyone deployed it with other operating systems as well ?

Yes, in fact some customers have actually set it up using Virtual Machine. Scary, eh?

The major reason is probably because Server OS doesn't have the 10 concurrent connection limit that Workstation OS does.
