Not as far as I know. There used to be a check box on the file open dialog that you could
select to open the file as read only (R13 and 14 both had this). When we were on 13 it
was on by default anytime you opened a drawing. It had to be turned off every time. As
near as I can tell there doesn't seem to be a way to do this with the current versions.
None of the command line switches seem to be a "read-only" switch.
You might look at something like voloview rather than autocad to "protect" the files.
