Program freeze-up?

Hello,

I downloaded the AutoCAD 2011 32-bit software and been having trouble with the program  freezing-up.  It will do this at various times while I'm using it while posting a "not responding" message.  "Geek Squad" says my laptop is compatible, I've run the "Spyware" program & have executed a uninstall / reinstall.   If the program does not respond I'll close it and restart allowing me to limp along.   Any suggestions??

Thanks,   Chuck

Hi ChuckELind;

   Can you please provide more details on the Laptop, ie Operating system, video card and driver version, CPU/Ram specs

We should have a look at the hardware to confirm that's its certified

DWAYNE,

My laptop has:

1.  Operating system  -  Windows Vista 32-bit

2.  Video Card  -  NVIDIA 6150  with 65.5.5.0 driver version

3.  RAM specs  -  3GB

Please let me know if more info is needed.     Thanks  Chuck

Hi ChuckELind;

   I actually don't see the 6100 card on the qualification charts so I don't know if that's a problem or not but I would recommend that you at least update the video drivers from either the nVidia website or the laptop's website.

dwayne,        I'm currently taking beginning AutoCAD and I'll be using 2D only.    Does that make a difference?

Thanks  Chas

Hi ChuckELind;

   It's hard to say, could be the reason it's not on the Qualification charts. I don't know for certain only that any card or system configuration that's not on the qual charts could result in unexpected behaviour of the application.

   Did you try updating the video driver? The really does help in most cases
