Problems Installing Inventor

I've attempted to install autodesk Inventor Professional 2012 multiple times on my laptop and have had each attempt fail at what seems to be the final step. Inventor tells me what software it's going to install, the install starts, and then I'm returned to a screen telling me nothing except inventor fusion was installed. I'm running windows 7 on a Latitude e6520, I've downloaded and installed the .net 4.0 framework.

Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603

 

Your product is failing to install because the prerequiste program required by the installer is newer than the version being installed. Please uninstall the prerequisite program causing the issue and run your installer again.
