Please help! - reinstall after network change

Our office replaced hardware and changed names of drives after Autocad had been installed in network form.
Now I cannot uninstall Autocad 2000 (because the uninstaller cannot find certain files on the network)
Nor can I reinstall Autocad 2000 because the installer cannot find certain files on the network. I would like to install Autocad so I can use it....

Can somebody help me find the files on my computer that tell Autocad where to look for the files it needs?

Warning - Editing Your Registry is dangerous. It can cause your computer to
die and never function again (at least until you reload the OS). Be very
    careful while editing your registry.

Even if you do everything exactly as I say this will hose your autocad
installation. I can't see that it really matters if your installation gets
hosed at this point since it won't work anyway.

Open your favorite registry editor (regedit or regedt32 depending on
    platform) and navigate to
HKLM\Software\AutoDesk\AutoCAD\R15.0\ACAD-X:409 (The x here may vary
depending on if you are running a vertical application or just vanilla acad,
if vanilla X=1) Highlight this key and delete it (press the del key).
Close the registry editor. Reboot the machine. Try re-running the autocad
setup. It should allow you to install autocad now.
