Performance Problems using Network

We use several computers using AutoCad2000 & Windows NT.
I have customised 1 computer, and copied the custom-files on the other computer. When I shut down the original computer, all the other computers become very slow (when using power-dimensioning etc.) There must be a 'invisible' link to one computer.

How can I solve this problem?

additional:

Is it possible that a link remains, when a profile is not imported, but copied on the next computer.

Is there any information saved in a profile on which computer the profile is created (because the profile is registered in the registry of Windows NT). How can this part be changed?

Awaiting your answer

Kind Regards

Wouter -
I don't know if this will work, but...

There can be a problem with this when items are copied from one machine to another. Many
time shortcuts created on a machine will automagically embed a UNC path such as
\\\admin$ in the .lnk file. When the link is clicked on it tries to get to
that computer.

There is a way to (hopefully) resolve this but it takes at least nt SP4 (I think, maybe
5??) and some registry editing.
The portion of the registry that you need to be in is
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
You need to add a value as follows
Value Name: LinkResolveIgnoreLinkInfo
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1 (enable)

!Disclaimer!: If you don't know what you are doing editing the registry don't even attempt
it. It can cause sever death or injury to your machine.
