Go to Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs and uninstall all versions of Microsoft .net Frameworks.

Install the latest one from the link below:

http://www.microsoft.com/downLoads/details.aspx?familyid=AB99342F-5D1A-413D-8319-81DA479AB0D7&displaylang=en

It is also good to update the driver for your graphics card.

Thanks, but didn't work. Tried the reload of MS NET etc, and reloaded LT2011. First time application opens and runs OK, but then when I exit it, the PC "crashes" and automatically reboots. After that it only opens as far as the appearance of the working window, then "crashes" and reboots again.....great time waster at the moment I can ill afford. Can anyone help please..? Thanks.

it sounds like a hardware problem
a computer doesn't reboot when you close a program

Thanks DarrenP, but no problems with PC with LT2010, or any other applications. So can't see how it could be a hardware problem...but I'm open to any suggestions please?

Chances are good this is the display adapter or the drivers for the display adapter. Might also be the memory or even another device.

Are there any Windows Event Logs?

Start by booting into Diagnostic Mode with the license service for the Autodesk product enabled. You will find instructions for this here. Also, try with any external storage devices removed.

If things run well while in Diagnostic Mode update the display drivers. Update the drivers for the pointing device as well.

You might even need to open the case and make sure adapter cards and memory are properly seated in their slots.

Also don't forget viruses and malware. Make sure to run a complete virus and malware scan.

Thanks Douglas,
My system won't allow me to change to Diagnostic Mode, or tick the Flexnet License box...it says I need to have Administrator privleges which my profile does.....? So I'm confused and stuck on that....
Have tried with external storage device disconnected, have tried to update display drivers (says no new updates available).
PC works fine with all other applications and devices. Just LT2011 causing this problem. No error messages come. Even log doesn't seem have anything specific. This is the only message which could be related to the time frame when "crashes" occured...? but I have no idea what it means.

......The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( gupdate1c95be8c08e1be ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details.......

Could the software received by DVD be corrupt..?
Should I try downloading update software and try that.....? Guess I can but try....!

On step 4 of the reboot procedure on the Technical Solution Right-click MSCONFIG and choose Run as administrator. Otherwise you might try as a different or new account.

Gupdate is the Google Update Service.
