PC completely freezing when starting installer

Hi,

Yesterday I've downloaded the 3DS Max 2012 Student installer.

All went fine, but when I try to open the downloaded installer:

- Nothing happens

- Computer goes mad, task manager crashes, various other processes stop responding, etc.

This means I can't shut down the installer process forcing me to restart my PC.

I already tried rebooting, redownloading and executing as administrator, yet none of these options help.

My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Edit: Literally 5 seconds after posting this message it started responding and started the installation process.

No idea why it took about 30 minutes to start this, but at least it works now.

I would assume that there is something wrong in your system or there may be a process in the background that is running that is conflicting with the installer.

During installation, please make sure that you turn off any Antivirus software:

Please make sure that you have UAC turned off.

If problem still persist, please install under Diagnostic mode:
