Hi abdul,

To know what you have to purchase, you must calculate how many users will
use AutoCAD at the same time.
Example:

You have 5 users that will use AutoCAD at the same time.
You have to purchase 5 AutoCAD network license.
You can install AutoCAD on 10,20,50 clients but the network license manager
(LMTOOLS) will only accept 5 licences.
At one time it could be pc1, pc2, pc5, pc15 and pc20.
Another time it could be pc10, pc12, pc14, pc35 and pc40.

In your case, if you buy only 1 license, only 1 could be use on your
network.
But you can install 10 clients.

Abdul,

You can purchase one network copy of AutoCAD 2006. That is fine and possible. Whoever said you had to buy a minimum of two is wrong. In fact, I run a single network licensed copy of AutoCAD 2006 on my laptop. My license file is only for 1 license.

You can install the network version on an infinite number of computers. However, only one will work at a time if you have only one license. The other installations will error saying there are no licenses available. Keep this in mind, because more than one person won't be able to run AutoCAD at a time.

You can always add additional licenses at a later date if you find it necessary to do so.

Hope you are fine. Sorry for bothering you again for a problem. It is related to “Licensing of AutoCAD- License Pack- One user”
Repeating my Problem
"Some one Told me that One Network License can not be configured and
I will have to Purchase minimum 02 network Licenses for AutoCAD 2006 instead of one.

Please clarify .
I want to Purchase only one Network License (License Pack) for AutoCAD 2006 and want to Configure on 10 Clients."

But now I am again facing Problem. Our Competitor has raised the issue that Autodesk has changed the Policy regarding “Licensing of AutoCAD 2006 - License pack ’’that Minimum Two AutoCAD License Pack will be Licensed instead of one License Pack

We have orders in Queue for AutoCAD One License Pack Based on the replies received from the forum .We have told our Clients that One AutoCAD License Pack can be licensed.
It is requested that problem may please be clarified

If Autodesk has changed the Policy then what Support from Autodesk will be provided to reseller to carry out Orders in Queue for AutoCAD License Pack Single License

Please let me know if you have some information regarding the One License Pack Auto CAD License

Your competitor is lying then. There is nothing that restricts how many licenses you can have for a network version. If you only want 1 license, you can buy only 1 license. I only have 1 network license of AutoCAD, for example.

You can install it on all 10 of your workstations and your license manager will give the single license to whichever workstation you are using it on. Only 1 will work at a time, obviously.

Are you in the United States / Canada, or somewhere else?

Hi Abdul,

I think that Travis and me have reply to your question.
The only person that can confirm our answer and are from Autodesk is Greg
Suppes.
So Greg if you see this post can you confirm to abdul that he can buy only 1
licence?

Best regards.

Pakistan probably has different licensing rules for Autodesk than USA/Canada and Europe.

Please make sure you always tell the whole story when asking for help.

Hi Adbul,

I can confirm, as Franck and Travis have, that there is no technical reason
why you cannot have a 1-seat network license.

That said, however, I do not know the details of the license purchase
policies in Pakastan, and whether there is a policy that would prevent a
1-seat network license purchase. I would be surprised if that where true,
but again, I do not know for sure.

I could try to do some research to find out, but I feel that regardless of
what I could find out here, you would be best advised to follow the guidance
you are given there. In other words, if you are an end customer, you should
follow the guidance of your reseller. And if you are a reseller, you should
follow the guidence of whomever in Autodesk sales you work with. Your local
Autodesk / Reseller contact will know more than anyone about the local
purchase policies.

Regards,
Greg
