Obtaining a License

Does anyone know what happens, i.e. what program is initiated, after a
license is obtained. I have problems obtaining a license, error[1.5.-12], I
have read the other posts and located the .lic. It still gives me the error
though. I reformatted a spare machine...by the why the machines that this
does not work on are win2000 while XP machines work...and installed ACAD
2002 as the first program and it works well but previous win2000 machines do
not recognize the license manager. The new install works fine however I do
not feel like reformatting 20 machines with win2000 in order for the
machines to talk to the license manager server. Is there anyone out there
that might now what the process is that I can follow to see where the
problem is, ie once the client recieves the license from the manager what
happens next? Any help would be greatly appreiciated.

below is a file entitled AutoCad 2002 Adlm.err that might be of use if I
could decode it.
