New License Server

Hey Everybody,

We are moving from one FLEXLM server to another to run our old 2002 licenses
(stuck in a long process of upgrading). When we do that we copy down the new
LICPATH.LIC that points to the new server but it doesn't grab a license from
that new server. It instead pulls a license from either the old one or from
another office location. The ACADFLEX_LICENSE_FILE has not been set on any
of the machines. I always thought the .LIC file would point it to the new
server.

Any Thoughts?

-Mike

You have to get a new license file for the new server. If you're a
subscription customer that will not be a problem. If you're not talk to your
reseller and see what he can do for you.

We have a new functional License server with new license file. Its just that
some of the clients are going to the old server even though we specified the
new server in the LICPATH.LIC file.

Any help would be appreciated.

The LICPATH.LIC file is probably cached. Easy fix. Do this...

Unplug the CAT5e network cable. Launch the software. When it can't find the server, it will ask you to provide the license server location. Plug the cable back in and choose the new license server. It will grab the right licenses.
