    Network Plotting

In the engineering group that I support, we have plotters and printers
attached to the network. AutoCAD 2000 is on about 30 computers. I have
drawing template files saved onto the network so that everyone pulls
from them. I setup the path in the options dialog box under the files
tab so that it would look on the network for them. My question is this:
Is there any drawbacks to setting up a path and putting the .pc3 files
on the network also? Because if I go to 5 different computers, I will
see 5 different plot settings. These 5 people are all plotting the same
size drawing to the same plotter. I want to set it up one time and leave
it alone. I will have to make the directory where the files are read
only to keep it that way. Right now we are running Windows NT 4.0 Server
software and we have WIN95, WIN98, & we are starting to make the move to
Windows NT 4.0 as the operating systems.

Al I currently use this setup. All of my .PC3 files and .CTB files are
located on the network server. You must set the appropriate path in ACAD in
order for the projects to be able to locate the proper file. I have had no
problems wiht this whatsoever. So as far as drawbacks I have found none.
Setting the directory to read only helps a great deal. If you don't,
everyone and their brother try to create new plot configs and .pc3 files.
