Network Monitor Errors & Acad2k File Locking Errors

I posted this on the Microsoft news group and they were clueless. Our
network seems to be functioning properely with the exception of DNS. Would
an improper DNS set up mess up Autocad and cause the mysterious drawing
going read only errors?

I was using the network monitor to try and determine if our network was
functioning properely. From the monitor everything looked ok. However I
did a capture and saved it to disk. When I opened it I noticed many errors
that looked like this:

SMB: R transact2 - NT error, System, Error, Code =
(52)STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND
SMB: NT status code = 0xC0000034, Facility = System, Severity = Error, Code=
(52) STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND

The errors come after a previous frame listing :

SMB: C transact2 Query path info, File =
\Peterson\Original_File\Blockxref\Original_Files\ESORTdwk

The errors seem to be associated with the lock files (.dwk) generated by our
cad program (Autocad 2000i) which indicate when a drawing file is in use.
This cad program has been misbehaving by files that are open for editing
suddenly going read only. Does this reflect a network problem? I have had
problems with large Adobe Photoshop files (50mb+) saving over the network
and Quickbooks Pro 2000 is having great difficulty in multuser mode.

We are running a complete Win 2000 network, server and workstation.

Thanks
