We have had this happen twice now...as I'm writing we're in the middle of
the second time.
We run AutoCAD 2004, primarily on Win2000 Professional workstations.
They get their licenses from a server running FlexLM (adskflex version 8.3
on FlexLM version 9.2).
What has happened is that twice, all of a sudden, people will try to open
AutoCAD and it starts opening, then hangs for about 10 minutes. There are
no error messages indicating that there's a problem obtaining a license. In
fact, the server status on FlexLM shows that each individual has already
obtained a license. I have checked our default template and our acad.lsp
and found no problems with those. There are no network problems at the time
of this problem.
I was wondering about the versions of FlexLM, but it has been running on
these version for a while with no problems. We only just had the problem
first time last week, and then this morning.
Once AutoCAD finally finishes opening, it seems to open for everyone who was
stuck at once, regardless of whether they started opening at the same
time...as if something was suddenly released and it all starts working.
People who are in AutoCAD before the freeze can continue working, and people
who open it after the freeze has ended have no problem.
Any light that can be shed on this would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
