    NT4.0 Server slowness

We have 2 NT 4.0 servers. We recently moved all our drawing files from one to the new one. ACAD2000 also installed on new server. We have parts libraries (mechanical and electrical) of about 5500 symbols each. When libraries were on the old server, if we map to libraries in ACAD support file path it takes about 18 seconds to launch ACAD2000. On the new server, if we map to libraries on the new server, it takes about 75 seconds to launch. They put a sniffer on the system, and launching ACAD2000 on the new server copies about 1.5 MB of data to my computer. When finished copying, ACAD finishes loading.

Have had network gurus look at problem, but they just throw their hands up. Any ideas, or things to look for?

Are both servers on a different domain?? I am
assuming you are using a Windows NT domains..

If they are both separate domains, are you logging
into the new one or the old??

    Are you using DHCP??

Need to know a few facts on the
    network...

Also, did these network gurus check to see at the network connections for
    the new server?

Is it connected at 10Mbs or 100Mbs?

Is TCP/IP at the top of the IP stack?

Is this a network install? If so then see questions (a), (b) and (c), if
not then why did you install Acad on the new server? This wouldn't create
    your problem, I'm just curious.

    (a) Did you change the location of AdLM?

    (b) Have you reset the ACADSERVER variable on each client to point to the
    new AdLM location?

    (c) Did you create a new deployment image and re-install acad on each client
(this would also reset the ACADSERVER var)?

On a side note. Scott, please don't post in HTML. Many people use
newsreaders that can't view HTML posts and this is how viruses spread
    themselves in NGs.
