Mutliple versions of Civil 3D on a single computer : installation and use

Is it possible to install and to work with different versions of Civil 3D on a computer ?

I try to install civil 3D 2010 on a computer where Civil 3D 2012 is alreaydy instaled.

But the installation fails and returns this message :

Yes but you should probably install them in order.

I will try an installation on a virtual machine to keep my Civil 2012.
