Multiple platforms

Hi - My daughter asked me download and install Inventor for her Honors Engineering class (Yes, I'm very proud Smiley Very Happy) however we may have one complication - we travel quite a bit.  Her normal machine is a powerhouse mega-desktop, her notebook is an old cast-off of moderate power.  Can I install this on both platforms and let her simply transfer her work when we are climbing on a plane or do I need to buy her a killer laptop?  Please advise...

I would just check to see if her old laptop meets minimum requirements.
