Missing dll files in Collaboration 2013 Client installer

Hi folks,

I've tried 2 different download methods from the subscription centre, both of which end up with the following error:

(See attached)

I thought that maybe it was because I had chosen to use the Autodesk Downloader app (which IMHO is pretty crap but that's for another thread!) so I downloaded it again using the Browser Download option instead which presented me with a .zip file.

This allowed me to copy/replace an xml file that popped up earlier in the install process so I thought it would fix this issue too but no.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex.

Does the file exist in the location noted in the error message?

Hello,

It is possible the file is not there, it is corrupt, or you do not have the proper access to the file. Doing a “Browser” download of the application may help you download a clean set of installation files. Trying an alternate download type is probably the first thing I would try. It would at least help isolate the files as the source of the issue.

When you install, turn off Antivirus, Windows UAC, and log in as an Admin.

I've already tried both the Browser download (.zip) and the Autodesk Downloader download - neither of which seems to have the file I am missing.

I have since been able to install the client application but without the Autoloader tool - which depends on the missing dll file.

What else can I try?

Right, a new week; and I've found a solution to this.

I started an "Install Now" download from the subcription site, via my home pc.

This downloaded the ~4GB installer to C:\Autodesk\WI\Vault Client VC En-US and a bunch of support files to the temporary folder (in my case C:\users\username\AppData\Local\Temp)

I then copied the entire "C:\Autodesk\WI\Vault Client VC En-US" directory to my work machine using my TeamViewer connection and it's file transfer capability.

This skipped everything that already existed & downloaded only the file(s) that were missing (the .dll files that were missing from both other download methods!)

If this can be escalated so as to have somebody update the "Browser Download" & Regular Autodesk Downloader option files that'd be great.

I'm going to mark this answer as the solution.
