Maya 2015 Installation Problem License Was Not Obtained Blank White Screen

Hi, I was able to install Maya 2015, but when I click the Activate button to enter the serial number to activate the product a blank white window pops open and I can't enter the serial number or do anything. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times and somehow was able to download a trial that has one day left on it. I'm working on a fairly new Dell XPS. Also, when I close everything a window opens that says

License was not obtained Tried Maya 2015, error 19

environment variable MAYA_ALT_EN is not set

Hi, this solution did not work. Should I just remove internet explorer from
my computer if it is causing the security issues?

Intenet explorer is required by our software for the activation process so removing the windows component of internet explorer won't help. However it may help to upgrade/downgrade your internet explorer install if it is corrupt that action may repair it. If you continue to have trouble I would suggest a repair of the windows operating system.

Hi, if I downloaded Maya 2015 using Google Chrome do you think that could
have caused my problems?

No it doesn't matter what browser was used for the download.

The blank activation screen is a problem with internet explorer loading the activation screen shot uninstalling and re-installing maya doesn't do anything. It's strictly an Internet explorer/Java issue.

Hi, I still can't download Maya and a message shows up in my Output Window
when I close the activation screen that says license problem in GUI mode
launch dialog message. Does that mean this is a licensing issue, or still
IE and Java?

The solution below worked. I can't believe it was that simple.

I finally found a solution that works atleast for me, it turns out some component of McAfee antivirus is what was causing my activation screen to be blank, you can download the McAfee component remover from the link below, ignore everything else contained in the document and download the remover. I hope this will be of use to someone.

I just tried editing my rtbeginreg.html document and found it to be 37k of blank.  How do i get a new one?

I was reading your trouble and had the same. I tried everything... than you gave me an idea. I uninstalled maya 2015. installed 3ds max trial version so i didn't use my student key ... than reinstalled maya 2015.. it worked for me

Do the following:
1. Press windows button + r to star Run and type 'services.msc'.
2. Click the 'Standard' tab on the bottom.
3. Find 'FLEXnet Licensing.. blaa' and right click for 'Stop'.
4. Right click again for properties and set 'Startup type' to 'Automatic' and press 'Start' below.
5. Apply and you are done!
