Had maya 2012 and 2011 and 2009 installed had one other unrelated SW product on my machine crash. Research in getting that problem fixed, suggested I uniinstall alll microsoft visual c++ libs and the re-install.. which I did... It hasnt worked yet... worse it killed maya 2011 and maya 2012. (however, maya 2009 still worked, go figure..) In the process I know one of the maya installs got corrupted. I have now fixed all the installs except maya 2012 (this is after trying to kill all versions of maya and related apps as well as raping and pillaging my registry as well as deleting all program entries of autoDesk, and using the microsoft fixit program for installs uninstalls)
I could flatten my whole system and start from scratch, but I have many other large programs I use on my system I'd rather not lose that time. There has got to be a way to install maya 2012 or 2011 in a different directory for emergencie/ quick fix isnt there ??
