Maya 2012 Installation on Linux

Hi Folks

I am trying to get Maya 2012 installed on my linux(Kubuntu) but I am having some issues.

When I run the adlmreg command below to configure my license I get this message.

$ adlmreg -i 657D1 SerialNumber /var/opt/Autodesk/Adlm/Maya2012/MayaConfig.pit

adlmreg: error while loading shared libraries: libadlmPIT.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I couldn’t find any library called libadlmPIT.so.4 anywhere in my disk. And I have no idea what package I need to install to get it… I’ve done a search but couldn’t find a package for it.

Even knowing that the license hasn’t been setup, I’ve tried launching maya and the message I get is:

$ ./maya2012
license problem in GUI mode launch dialog message
maya: License was not obtained
Tried Maya 2012 (657D1 2012.0.0.F), error 41

License method:
environment variable MAYA_LICENSE_METHOD=’network’
Product choice:
environment variable MAYA_LICENSE=’unlimited’

License file override:
environment variable MAYA_ALT_EN is not set

Could anyone help me out with this please. I have read the Autodesk PDF to do the installation on Linux, and followed all steps, even though following all steps didn’t get maya running . I have no idea how to proceed from now on.
Thank you very much

I found the files and done the symlink.

sudo ln -s /opt/Autodesk/Adlm/R4/lib64/libadlmPIT.so.4 /usr/lib/libadlmPIT.so.4
sudo ln -s /opt/Autodesk/Adlm/R4/lib64/libadlmutil.so.4 /usr/lib/libadlmutil.so.4

Now, when I run the adlmreg command I get the following msg:

adlmreg -i N 657D1 657D1 2012.0.0.F MYSERIALNUMBER /var/opt/Autodesk/Adlm/Maya2012/MayaConfig.pit
Serial Number exists. Skip registration.

I suppose it’s made the registration, right?

Then I try to launch maya and maya doesn’t get started. Just hangs and nothing happens.
I checked the process using top command, and maya uses about 5% of my CPU...maximum…
I’ve waited about 15 min or more I guess…

It’s hard to debug now coz there is no msgs getting printed out…

Any ideas?

Thanks
