MOLDFLOW ACTIVATION PROBLEM

I have moldflow adviser 2012 sudents ver. and i've problem with licence.

How do I activate the product

Please help

Having problems getting Moldlfow Student version licensed and came upon this thread. I hope you don't mind me butting in.

In those instructions above it says;

"Product Registration

To obtain the full 36 month license, Autodesk Moldflow Adviser must be registered. To register select:

Start > All Programs > Autodesk > Autodesk Moldflow Adviser 2012 > Autodesk RegisterOnce

Follow the instructions on the web page that opens."

The problem is the instructions on that page are not very clear! The registration page takes me to a page that requests "Server 1 host name:" and "Server 1 ID" in order to generate the license file. What should I use for "Server 1 host name" - LOCALHOST, 127.0.0.1, or the real name of my computer?  And for "Server 1 ID", do I use the MAC address of a network connection on my machine? If I choose the wireless connection which is active at the moment,will the license server still work when it is inactive and I am connected by LAN?

Actual Computer name and the mac address as host ID would be needed

Mac address should be visible to the license manager software for the license to work. (you can check this using LMTOOLS, installed as part of the license manager)

So if wireless card is not disabled during the wired LAN operation you can use that.

Thanks. For clarity - Computer/Hostname and Ethernet (MAC) Address are listed under the "System Settings" tab of LMTOOLS.

127.0.0.1 also works as hostname.

These instructions should really be included in the install guide MoldflowAdviser2012NLMInstallGuide.pdf you are directing people to or else linked to elsewhere. Most students would not have experience of setting up a FlexLM license server (as simple as it is once you know how).
