Locked Files

Hi all

A2ki, Win ME

When saving a drawing I'm having the error "unable to save this drawing
because is it´s beeing acessed by another session...".
This is hapenning 4-5 times a day.
I'm sure no one else is using the drawing, and I'm also sure this has
nothing to do with XLOADCTL.
This error/conflict has been widely discussed in the A2K NG, but with no
solution yet.
Lots of users are reporting this problem with different kinds of
OS/Networks.

When discussing this with Shaan Hurely, under the thread "Locked Files"
(29.03.2001) he suggested it could be some configuration/conflict problem on
my computer/OS/Network. He also sugested me to post here. So here I am.

My network is only 2 (two) Windows ME PC's !
Each PC has an AutoCAD2000i. (and etc...)
One of them (not mine) hosts all the working files.
No other program has this error. (I can work all day with 3DS viz with no
problems)

Can someone help?

TIA
Francisco

The most common solution to this problem is to get latest, greatest drivers for all of the
network cards involved.

This problem generally occurs when the "server" doesn't respond quickly enough to network
api calls made by autocad. If updating the network cards doesn't work the only other
solution that I know of is to get a faster "server", which for many really isn't an
option.
