When using the Network Deploy for a single user without License Manager
all the users will get the same serial number and CD Key.

I have 5 registered licenses of MDT5, is this method of installation
acceptable/legal?
Do I need to create a Network Deploy for each license?

I'm not an expert in autodesk licensing but I'd say that it is not legal, besides the fact
that I'm not sure that it will work. When you create a network deployment, it is assumed
that you will be using the adlm. I don't know of a way to create a local authorization
from a network deployment (but that doesn't mean that it's not possible). Why not switch
to an adlm? That way you can install autocad to as many machines as you want but only 5
people can be in it at once.

I'd recommend that you ask the dealer from which you purchased MDT to verify the legality
of this type of installation.

Jason, thanks for your reply.

I don't want to use the adlm because if our server goes down
we wont be able to use MDT5. (It happens....)

As for the network deployment, when I created the deployment
one of the installation options was:
"Configure for single user without License Manager"

Using the network deployment it installed MDT5 perfectly on
my workstation. Waiting to see If I can use the same network
deployment for our other users.

Not sure of the letter of the law, but I think you're fine. The main
requirement is that you have 5 licenses and only 5 seats running MDT at any
time. Since you installed it in only 5 places, I think you're fine.
