Licensing Issue with AutoCAD LT 2012 Upgrade

We have been upgrading our AutoCAD since the late 90s.  Now with the installation of our new Windows SBS 2011 server we want to switch from Standalone to Networked Licensing to support the Web Desktop for remote workers.  We researched this on the Autodesk site before purchasing the upgrade to make sure that AutoCAD LT 2012 supported Network Licensing and it appeared to be supported.

Now that we have purchased the upgrade and are trying to register it, the registration service says our current five seat license is standalone only.  The registration desk has been no help at giving us direction on the process we need to follow to fix this and keeps referring us to our AutoCAD Reseller.  Over the years we have purchased our upgrades from various vendors including CDW and Provantage, neither of which is helpful in this matter.  Since once we install the new upgrade the old 2009 version of LT will no longer issue a license, we are confused as to why Autodesk won't or can't register this new software as network.

Can anyone provide a simple, detailed, english explanation of what we need to do?  Or, did we just spend $2700 on an upgrade for the one feature we wanted but cannot use?

you can't get any version of Autocad LT as a network license

you need to move to full blown autocad to get network licensing

Thanks for the info Darren, we obviously got the wrong info on the network licensing for LT 2012.  I'm not sure why registration could not have just said that it wasn't supported.  We'll look at returning the software and see if there is an alternative we can use on the RDS Host to support our new mobile architecture.
