License transfer

I have a new PC for MPI 2012. I have the old one with MPI 2010. I want to transfer the license files from the old to the new, but am having significant issues. The new PC displays a license error when starting the application, and I can not seem to figure it out. Should I uninstall, and reinstall on the new PC? Should I use the old license files that I saved in .txt format, and try to load the license files that way? Please help!
