Hi, our company is upgrading the license server OS from WinNT4 to Win2K server. It's an in-place upgrade. Will our license managers be affected? Do i need to reinstall or re-authorize? Btw, we have both FlexLM and AdLM running in this server. tia, danny
Almost for sure you will need to reauthorize your
old Élan license managed products. It is almost as sure a bet that you
will not have to reauthorize your FLEXlm license. Rare exceptions occur in
both cases.

In theory, if the NIC Card is the same, and the
machine name is the same, you will be able to use the old auth codes. BUT,
I would tell everyone to plan on an outage, just in case. Then, if it
actually works, not just in theory, you can look like a genius for figuring out
how to get everyone back on line sooner.
