License Timeouts

Does anyone know if there is a way to set the ADLM to timeout a license if
it has had no activity after a certain period of time? We are using Land
Development Desktop with the Civil Design and Survey add-ons. We have only
purchased a few licenses of civil and survey for the ADLM since they are not
used as often. However, since they are loaded only on the first use of the
software and may not be used again for a while, we would like to have the
ADLM get that license back if it hasn't been used in say 15 minutes. Is
this possible?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately there is no way to do this with the current implementation of the license
manager. It is a known wishlist item.

sorry.

There is, contrarry to what a few others are saying. It's called a Zombie
Timeout. It all depends on which sytem you are running your license
manager. If IPX then, from the Novell command prompt, unload the license
manager, and reload adding the extension -z and then a space, and then the
time in seconds.
If TCP/IP then from the workstation in which LM was loaded, goto
Start->Setting->Control Panel. Double-click the AdLM icon. Stop the server
if it is running. Choose Settings. and enter the time limit for Zombie
Timeout.

Does the "zombie" timeout just check to see if AutoCAD is running on the
workstation ....... i.e. the workstation ip address is pinged every 30 sec
or so - if AutoCAD is running it maintains the license. If AutoCAD is not
open or the workstation is off-line it releases the license for somebodey
else or does it actually sense if somebody has actually been active with
using AutoCAD; not merely bogarting the license by having it up on there
screen?
