Hi,

after you configured it, did you either boot the server or in the LMTOOLS-program go to Start/Stop/Reread and press Start Server? The message you get looks like you forgot to start it...

In th LMTOOLS- I did start the server. It said the server was started. Any other suggestions?

OK,

check for me once more that you have all 3 things configured correctly on the Configure Services Tab (see JPG). If and when this is the case, open the logfile and paste the relevant part of the Service loading-sequence here.(Start with:
3:03:21 (lmgrd) pid 5440
3:03:21 (lmgrd) Detecting other license server manager (lmgrd) processes...
3:03:21 (lmgrd) Done rereading
3:03:21 (lmgrd) FLEXnet Licensing (v11.4.0.0 build 31341) started on dev1 (IBM PC) (12/21/2007)

and all the way to either error or Server Started...

I'm having the same problem while trying to add a 2008 license to my 2005 license. Here is my log file:

It looks like the 2005 license is doing fine, but something's wrong with the 2008 section.

Hi,

seems to me you've created 2 services with LMTOOLS, one for the 2005 and one for the 2008? The correct way is to combine the Licensefiles and just run one process. Here's the "How-To":

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=8057761&linkID=9240617

Try this and let me know how it went.

I only have 1 service. I followed that how-to to get as far as I did, but it's not working. I tried reinstalling the License Manager, but same result.

Hi,

check the licensefile to see that the very long line after

NCREMENT PLIST adskflex 1.000 permanent 1 \
VENDOR_STRING

isn't wordwrapped. The whole Increment statement should be on one line. The \ character is a "licensefile" -hyphen and each line except the last one should end ..... \

Each line except the last one does end with a \ for each increment statement. No word wrapping

Howabout if you open both original Licensefiles, are the beginningparts before the Inrement identical?

This part:

SERVER servername 0123456789ab
USE_SERVER
VENDOR adskflex port=2080

/Petri

Yes, they are identical.

OK,

what happens if you try running just the newer licensefile?

That worked so I pasted the 2005 license at the end of it and that worked too! Maybe the 2005 license had to be after the 2008 license? I have no idea. In any case, it works now. Thanks so much for your help!
