License Manager Beginners Question

We have recently decided to upgrade to LDDT R2 and to use the AdLM with a
Client Deployment for ease of installation. I have been reading the
Installation guide and a FAQ (Installing Autodesk License Manager - NT 3.51)
that I got from Autodesk's web page. I have come to an unclear part of the
instructions.
I have been told by my reseller that the Client Deployment can be done from
my workstation(W98) to our NT server through the network. My question is
can the AdLM also be done this way? (My reseller is unavailable right now)
The FAQ from Autodesk is for R14 but it says "Log on locally. The following
steps need to be performed at the system where the AdLM will be installed."
This implies to me that I cannot install the AdLM from my machine to the
server throught the network.

Does anyone know the answer to this?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Jackie,

you are correct. The AdLM is a windows service, which has to be installed on the
unit it will be run on. The istallation is simple and the service takes very
little recources so go ahead and install it on the server. Of course the AdLM
can run on any WIN95/98 or NT4.0 pc doesn't have to be the server. Only remember
to have it using a static TCP/IP address and remember to have the power turned
on at all times anyone needs to get a license. As it is a service, you don't
have to log onto the workstation so security isn't a problem.

Jackie,

The TCP/IP AdLM must be installed on the machine where it is going to run.
Remote installs or authorizations are not possible.
