    License Issue - AutoCAD 2012

Our company has AutoCAD 2008 Network with 1 seat.  We just purchased an upgrade to AutoCAD 2012 Network and a second seat.  The upgrade and the second seat each come with its own serial number. I have gone to the web site and generated a license file for each serial number.  I then edited the license file to include both seats per the instructions that I have found also on the site.  The Network License Manager (NLM) is up and running on a Windows 2008 server.  I have added the license file at it is accepted.  When I check the status it shows the server is up and there are 2 licenses, 0 being used.  See STATUS1.txt attachment.

I then created a deployment for a 32bit Client.  I used one of the serial numbers and the product key (located in the MID01.txt file).  I pointed to the NLM server for the license.  I then used the deployment to install the 32bit Client on a Windows 7 system.  It installed without issue.

When I launch AutoCAD, I get the [0.0.0] error.  No valid license.  Nothing seems to work.  I opened a ticket.  A new license file was created by support and pieced together and sent back to me.  I then used this license file.  Now when I look at the status, I see only 1 license, 0 being used. See STATUS2.txt

When I attempted to launch AutoCAD on the Windows 7 system, I still get the error (No valid license file).

I completely uninstalled the client, destroyed the deployment, recreated the deployment, and reinstalled the deployment.  Still same issue.

I believe everything is setup correctly, I just can't get a good license file.  Any ideas?

did you download the ipv6 version of the license manager: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=10976858&linkID=9240698

the first license status text file tells me you have 2 seats of 2012 licenses

the 2nd .text file tellls me you know only have 1 seat of 2012

how many seats are you supposed to have?

I did not download anything for IPv6.  Our download consisted of "AutoCAD_Architecture_2012_English_Win_32Bit" and the same for 64bit.

I have verified that both the server and the client do not have IPv6 enabled.

thats the problem then that license file is for autocad 2012 and not for autocad architecture 2012

You will have to excuse me as I had to take a few minutes to go blow off some steam.  You see, someone asked for the software, another purchased the software, yet another downloaded and then I get invovled.  So I have been spending about a day and a half attempting to get something to work that isn't going to no matter how long I try.

~grin~  Okay...  I have by-passed everyone else and grabbed, what I believe to be, the correct AutoCAD files.  I removed all the previously installed stuff.  I then went through the install process and setup my NLM, created a new deployment, used that deployment to install on a client, and I put back the license file that we edited from the beginning.

When I launched AutoCAD on the client, everything worked as it should.

Now I need to go find the one who downloaded and "vent".

Thanks...  sorry for a non-issue, but maybe someone will read this and double check their download to ensure that they did in fact download the correct software before spending way to much time on trying to figure out what went wrong.
