LT08 Installation Error

Dear All,

I'm trying to open up my version of ACAD LT 2008 and get the following error:

"This patch package could not be opened.  Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

This same error appears upon add/remove as well.

I'd love to hear what is wrong?

The message could be popping up due to an incompatability between the Porduct version and the operating system.

Which operating system are you trying to install AutoCAD LT 2008 on?

Hi Vivek.  OS is widows XP.  It's been working well for a couple of years until two months ago.

Are you aware of any recent Microsoft updates which are interfering with CAD?

There are no Windows XP updates in particular which aftects AutoCAD installation.

However Windows Firewall may block some programs from communicating over the Internet after you install Windows XP

Service Pack 2.
