LICENSE SITUATION HELP

Hi to all
My customer is purchasing 4 seats of Autodesk Inventor 2008
He requires to use just one HP server along with 4 HP Compaq t5720 Thin Client connected to the server.
User will be working on Inventor through the thin clients.
Is this kind of setup possible & does Autodesk Licensing Software support remote desktop
What type of License do I need to provide them with
Any information will be highly appreciated

thanks in advance

regards,
neil

Hi,

Remote Desktop is not an option with Autodesk products:

Hi Petri
Could you suggest any other solution for this kind of a setup?

Basically the customer does not want the users(clients ) to have access to copy/ save inventor files from the server.

thanks

Hi,

I''m not sure I understand the scenario but you could always "strip" the workstations of all I/O -devices like USB, Floppy, RS, Centronics Bluetooth, Infrared, CDR and DVDR. Just leave the CD-station and Network Adapter.

IF the users don't have to edit the files, take a look at Autodesk Streamline:

I think this maybe more what your client is looking for?

Cheers,

Covering only the license topic I would say that network license is
preferred over single licenses in most cases. It gives you the freedom to
use the software on other machine in future without having to update the
licensing.
