Is there a mechanism to automatically apply a Service Pack?

Hello;

At our company we have engineers install a local copy (the EXE) of the
network version of AutoCad onto their machines. Is there a way during new
installs that a service patch can be automatically applied after the Acad
install finishes? Or is it possible to exchange our version for a newer
version with the patch so as to advoid this problem entirely?

Sincerely;
Michelle

No to both questions. Autodesk has not distributed CDs with SPs on them.
What you can do is run the install for AutoCAD, then reboot, then run the
install for the SP.

I have AutoCAD run a LISP routine (at startup) that checks the current
AutoCAD version against what it should be. If the version is not correct
(and not newer of what I have listed of what it should be), then I place a
registry entry in hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\current
version\run once\ that points to the SP on the network. Then I give an
alert box to the user and tell them that they need to reboot and install the
SP in order to use AutoCAD. Then I exit AutoCAD. This all happens before
the user has a chance to be able to start editing anything.
