I have an XP workstation that runs all Autodesk Design Academy products except Inventor 2011. Each time I launch the program it asks for a license server. If I fill in the information, Inventor will launch and run properly, but the next time I launch the program it asks for license server information.
The license server information in the Admin Image is correct and it is reflected in the license.lic file at the root of the program folder. I have also tried borrowing a license, with the same results.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Example shown below:
SERVER servername 000000000000
USE_SERVER
change the servername to your own server name and 000000000000 to your server MAC address.
Thanks for the suggestions. I determined that the ports are free and the firewall is disabled. I edited LICPATH.LIC to include the mac address of the server--it already had the correct server name. Again, Inventor asked for the name of the license server, and once I entered it the program ran. But when I launched Inventor again, it again asked for the license server.
I should mention that these computers (there are four) previously ran Autodesk Design Academy 2006, which was uninstalled. All other ADA 2011 programs run successfully.
Please try to add an environment variable: ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE with the value of @Servername.
Did you ever get a fix to this. I have an identical issue with just one machine out of a room of 20.
Please post the error to your problem. Is there an error number or error screen?
In the mean-time, have you set the environment variable?

I found the solution here>>> http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=14374530&linkID=9240617#
In particular this part from the above link
"Note: If the licpath.lic file exists, the MAC address field in the licpath.lic file must be exactly 12 hexadecimal characters. If this is not the case, the License Finder dialog box is displayed each time the AutoCAD® software is started, even if the system variable ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE is correctly implemented."
I noticed that when I opened the licpath.lic file on the client machine it had 000000000000 for the mac address I changed this to the actual mac address of our server. I also deleted the file "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Adlm\CascadeInfo.cas"
It was likely the CascadeInfo.cas file because the MAC in the LICPATH.LIC file is not relevant. It defaults all zeroes.
