I have re-installed Simulation Mechanical 2012 from the Autodesk CD. Checking Help\About shows:
Build 2012.00.00.0163 04-Mar-2011
I want to install Service Pack 1 per:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?si
The readme file (http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/autodesk_sim
"To verify the installation was successful, start Autodesk Simulation 2012. On the Help menu, select About. If the About box displays: Build 2011.01.01.nnnn, the installation was successful."
However, my CD build is already up to 2012, although the build date is only 04-Mar-2011.
I don't understand the build conflict. Should I install SP1?
Thanks,
Don Culp

I would run the update. The installer should detect if the update will apply to the installed version of the software on your computer.
