Installing Raster Design Object Enabler 2008/2010 via logon script

Hi there, I can't find any documentation on whether or not I can do a silent install or a minimal UI install of Raster Design OE. I've got the .exe and I'm experimenting with it now, but I'd like to be able to add a line to our login script to automatically install it upon login, similar to a /qb when installing Design Review, TrueView or even the "big" Civil3D/Raster Design apps.

Is it possible?

Thanks,
-M

I got an except from the Revit Architecture Object Enabler "Read-Me" which states as below:

Please see if it helps.

A silent installation of the AutoCAD Architecture-MEP 2011 Object Enabler can be configured using the /q quiet switch.

The following is an example of the context used for a quiet installation:

\\ServerName\ObjectEnabler\AutoCAD Architecture-MEP 2011 OE.exe /q

Thanks,

Hi Vivek, I tried that this morning, and it doesn't seem to work with this one. /q or not, it comes up with the "welcome" screen, and then next next next next accept, next next next next finish (or whatever... an 'administrative install') 🙂

  • 1. Locate a computer that has target Autodesk software applications you intend to install the AutoCAD Raster Design OE.
  • 2. Download the Raster Design OE and start the installer.
  • 3. Select the target Autodesk software applications and complete the installation.
  • 4. Open the temp directory used by the installer:
  • Windows 2000/XP:

5. Click Run.

6. Enter %temp%.

7. Click OK.

  • Windows Vista:

5. Click Start Search.

6. Enter %temp%.

7. Press Enter.

  • Windows 7:

5. Click Search programs and files

6. Enter %temp%.

7. Press Enter.

  • 8. Sort the folder by date. You will see an .msi file for each target Autodesk software application at or near the time that you ran the installer. Examples are:

152.tmp_Autodesk_Map_3D_2007_-_English_(United_States).msi

105.tmp_AutoCAD_2010_-_English_(United_States).msi

105.tmp_AutoCAD_Map_3D_2010_-_English_(United_States).msi

  • 9. You can now install the OE from the command line or a script by running each of the .msi files as follows:

msiexec /i <drive>:\<path>\<MSIName>.msi /qb-

msiexec /i c:\install\105.tmp_AutoCAD_Map_3D_2010_-_English_(United_States).msi /qb-

A dialog box with a progress bar and a Cancel button will display for the duration of the install

If I have a machine that has AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Mep and Architecture, and do the install of the O.E. that I need. Will that MSI that is in %TEMP% directory work for other machines that only have AutoCAD or Civil 3D installed, or will it fail?
