Installed using wrong Serial...need to change without reinstall

I mistakenly used our Contract ID instead of the serial for Inventor 2011 Pro when reinstalling this morning. Now I can't import the license that is correct because the serials don't match. How can I change the installed serial number so that I can reactivate my product?

If Inventor is similar to Civl 3D it would be Help > About Inventor. Then hit the Product Information button. On the Product Information dialog you should be able to hit Update next to the SN. You can change the SN there.

I can't get into Inventor at all. When I try launching it, I get a window that says I have two options, import a license or activate. As I already have this software activated on my work computer and exported from my laptop, I can't activate it for a third time. Besides, the serial that's entered is currently wrong so the activation wouldn't work anyway. I need to change the serial without having to run Inventor at all. I'm beginning to think I am going to have to do ANOTHER uninstall/reinstall today. I've already wasted the entire first half of the day messing with this. I always seem to have issues with this program. I'm sure it's me.

My only other suggestion is to call your reseller (or Autodesk if you have support through them). To get it fixed today you're probably right about the uninstall/reinstall.
