Installed AutoDesk Inventor 2010 Successfully but Does not Start- Help!

Hi there,

Due to shortage of space I installed successfully AutoDesk Inventor 2010 on D:\program files\AutoDesk\Inventor 2010 instead of C: drive. It installed successfully but when I double click the icon after restarting the computer to activate it nothing happens. I tried to start it from start menu programs as well but nothing happens.

Any help is highly appreciated. I am running Windows XP professional SP2 with all latest patches.

Thank you,

Regards,

Frehman

What happens if you double click on the file:
D:\program files\AutoDesk\Inventor 2010\Inventor.exe

If you look at the memory consumption in Windows Task Manager, does the Inventor.exe process build up memory or does it immediately exit?
Do you get any error dialog at all?

What is the hardware spec of your XP machine? I am especially interested to know your amount of RAM and your processor type.

Thanks
Bob

Bob thanks for the reply,

I have tried it as well i.e. running it from the directory but nothing happens. No dialog box, it neither starts nor appears in processes of windows task manager. As I mentioned earlier during installation no error occured.

I have installed it on a laptop Core duo 2.0 Ghz, Windows XP SP2 (with latest patches), 4 GB Ram.

Do you suggest that I should I uninstall it and reinstall it. Should I disable Mcafee Antivirus while installing it?

Thanks

Hi,

it seems there are some problems of license.
Please try to install Inventor 2010 Sevice pace to see if you can launch
Inventor. if that doesn't work, reinstall Inventor. if you still failed to
launch Inventor, uninstall it, then go the folder C:\Documents and
Settings\All User\Application Data\Autodesk\AdlM (please show all the hidden
files if you cannot find it), delete all the files in this folder. After
that, install Inventor again.
when you install Inventor, suggest you close the antvirus software and turn
UAC off.
