Installation problem

Okay I'm going to make it brief and simple, just gonna describe what happens and ask for help right? Okay....the installler works just fine. However I have one problem when it actually starts installing the programs.

1: Autodesk backburnner does not get installed, claiming this was the "windows installer could not be accessed *blah blah*" error.

2: C++ does not get installed due to me already having it on my computer.

3: whatever the third thing on the list is not installed.

When it completes the installation of something it has the green checkmark very briefly (less than a second) then the red X appears and it moves onto the next thing. And when it comes to the fourth thing on the list it just shuts down entirely...

EDIT: This is what the installer's screen looks like before I close it out.

Greetings...

I can't help with the other problems, but the message about the Windows Installer Service probably means that you don't have the current version of the Microsoft Windows Installer on your computer.

You can access it by going to Windows Update or Microsoft Update (from either Internet Explorer or typing in the address bar:

update.microsoft.com

It depends on your version of Windows. It's also available from the Control Panel in Win 7.

Do a check for updates (either Express or Custom)... if you don't have the current version of the Installer, it will ask for permission to install.

Hope this helps 🙂

Hi, Can you upload the “3ds Max 2011 Setup.log” and “3ds Max 2011 Install.log” from the folder in the screen shot you posted?
