Installation of AutoCAD Civil 3D

Hello,

I'm downloading this version to my laptop.  I am running Windows 7.

Can I install the 2009 version of this software to this laptop?

My video card is Intel HD Graphics with ExpressCard.  Can I run the software using this video card?

Thanks,

John

Autodesk 2010 products and newer are supported on Windows 7.  Civil 3D 2009 is not supported.  Furthermore, your lack of a certified 3D card would probably hinder your experience if you were able to successfully install it.  You're better off putting this on a Windows XP or Vista machine with a certified 3D video card.

Thank you for your reply.

I can use the 2010 version, but can you tell me how to go about getting a certified 3D video card?  Can I go to a computer store, but it and have them install it?  I have checked the Dell website and I don't see any selection for 3D video cards.  I'm not opposed to buying a new computer.

Thanks again in advance.

John

You can find certified graphics cards through here:

You can find system requirements for Civil 3D here: Even if it is for 2012, it will definitely work for 2010.

Sorry.  I just re-read my post and it had a typo...  Can I go to a computer store, BUY it and have them install it?

You can just go to a computer store and buy a Video Card. Just check supported video cards here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/cert?siteID=123112&id=16391880

to make sure that you will purchase a certified card so you won't experience any problems. Consider of what type of work you will be doing.

I would recommend also recommend to bump up your RAM. I would recommend at least 4gb reserve some slots for later upgrade.
