I am trying to install AutoCAD 2012 on my laptop 64-bit. But I consistently get this message when beginning the installation that says "Installer detects running programs that need to be closed: AutoCad (acad.exe)." However, I have no other programs opened and my Task Manager shows no other programs opened. I do have AutoCAD 2011 installed currently, do I need to uninstall that before I can move on?
Thanks

Please check the process for all the users in the task manager (default only shows process started by you)
acad.exe must be running in the background.
Rebooting the machine is good idea to clear any memory issues.
uninstalling 2011 is not required for 2012 installation.
